Omega Grand Priz Paris 1900 “transitional” 50mm wire lug pocket watch conversion on hand made leather NATO bracelet. During the first world war many pocket watches were converted to wristwatches by soldering on lugs and adding a leather strap. These watches are commonly referred to as “transitional” or “trench” watches and are popular with collectors today. This Omega watch offered for sale is a recent conversion, it is an authentic Omega with signed case and movement and embossed on inside dust cover are six metals representing awards received at the Paris 1900 world`s fair. The case has a dark black finish that matches the black dial. The manual wind movement has just been serviced by our watchmaker it is in excellent working condition. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 50 mm across and is fit with a custom made leather bracelet.
