Rare, all steel, fully signed, Vintage triple date moonphase calendar watch from the Imperial Watch Co circa 1950. (The Imperial Watch Co. was formed in 1875 in Chaud-De-Fonts, Switzerland.) This watch works just as it should and keeps accurate time. Calendar and moonphase turn over daily as they should. As designed, the month has to be quickset at month’s end. The movement powering this watch is a high quality manual wind Caliber 1151 (in fact the same parentage as the Cal. 1100 workhorse used in the collectible Zodiac triple date moonphase watch of the same era.) The letters BXP (for Imperial) appear on the balance cock. The watch is also signed on the movement, case back and dial and has 4 working quickset case pushers allowing for the independent corrections of the calendar. The silver-cream dial is in quite nice condition for a 70+ year old watch; the dauphine hands are gold capped steel, there is some surface rust present on the date hand and seconds hands. The three piece all steel case is in good condition, the acrylic crystal is excellent. There is also a caseback serial number – 754767. The watch is a full size men’s watch for the period at 35.5mm wide excluding the crown. It comes as found on a new flexible bracelet. Photos are magnified and show details not seen by naked eye, the case measures 35 mm across (not including crown) x 44 mm lug to lug.
