This is a great example of late 1960’s vintage Heuer Carrera automatic chronograph which was a real horological breakthrough and the first of a new generation of watches. This timepiece is in a stainless steel screw back case and has a great looking blue dial with white sub-dials and hands. The Heuer Carrera cal 11 was the very first automatic chronograph, the prototype was released in 1968 and developed by a consortium of watch manufacturers that included Heuer, Breitling, Hamilton, and Dubois Depraz. A month after the cal 11 was announced the competition (Movado/ Zenith group) revealed their auto chrono the “El Primero” The cal 11 was only produced for two years and was replaced by the cal 12, a similar but higher beat movement. This watch has been serviced by our watchmaker and is in excellent working condition. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 38 mm across (not including crown or pushers) x 40 mm lug to lug and is fit with a good condition, high quality (used) blue leather bracelet.
