It is not often that I get to buy a vintage Rolex of this age from the original owner but that is exactly what happened in this case. I was contacted by Rose, an 88 year old woman from a small town in northern Alberta, and offered to buy her Rolex watch that was presented to her when she was 21 (1944) as a Christmas present from a family friend. “I have cherished this watch all these years (said Rose) and I want to see it go to someone who will appreciate it as much as I have”. Apparently none of Rose’s children, grandchildren or great grandchildren had any interest in the watch but I’m sure someone will be thrilled to own this gem! The case has been refinished and looks mint, the dial is original and patined and the movement has been serviced by our watchmaker and is in excellent working condition. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 16.5 mm across (not including crown) x 25 mm lug to lug and is fit with a new black cord bracelet.
