The chrono is operated with three buttons, the usual upper and lower buttons stop and start the chrono and the third button which is incorporated into the winding crown resets to “0”. The dial is signed “Lorie” and Landeron movement is signed “Lorie Watches”. Saunders Lorie and Company Limited of Toronto, Canada registered the trademark name “LORIE” in 1926, the trademark was renewed in 1976 and expunged in 1993 because of a failure to renew. The trademark while it was in effect applied to watches, watch movements, watch dials, watch cases and jewellery of all kinds and description. Watch movements were imported from Switzerland and final assembly, perhaps including fixing dial, hands and casing and timing were done in Canada thus avoiding high duties that were applied to finished watches. The case is white metal with fixed lugs and a stainless steel back, the lower pusher has lost it’s outer white finish and shows yellow. This collectable timepiece is in excellent working condition and has been serviced by out watchmaker. Photos are not actual size of watch, it measures 34 mm across (not including crown) x 42 mm lug to lug and is fit with a woven fabric bracelet.
