Great looking 3/4 size 1940’s Vintage Rolex Oyster Royal with patined original dial that is marked with retailer’s name “Dobbies Ltd, Nairobi”. The Oyster stainless steel case is in very good condition, and watch is fully signed Rolex on the dial, case and movement and has the original winding crown that still locks down properly and is signed Oyster Patent. The movement is a 10 1/2 Hunter manual wind, and case reference is 2280. The watch was just fully serviced by our watchmaker and is keeping excellent time. Small Rolex Oyster watches of this type were very popular with soldiers during WW2, they are becoming increasingly hard to find in original condition with original dial and crown. This horological collectable measures 30 mm across (not including crown) x 35 mm (lug to lug). The distance between lugs (bracelet width) is 16 mm, and it is fit with a new leather strap.
