Late 30’s to early 1940’s 3/4 size Rolex wristwatch with 101/2 hunter movement. This is a very rare Canadian market prototype with sterling silver top and signed Rolex steel screw back. This is the predecessor to Canadian market Rolex with cal 59 movement, but much rarer and is signed on the movement, case and on the original finish dial. These small Rolex watches (sometimes referred to as boy’s size) were very popular with the Canadian and British serviceman during the second world war, they were not actually issued by the military but were available for sale at the on base PX stores and also were marketed to departing serviceman at local jewellers in Canada. This watch is in great working condition and has just been serviced by our watchmaker; it is signed on the dial, movement, case and crown, it has a signed Rolex replacement screw down crown not the oyster crown. Measures 28 x 35 mm and is fit with a new leather bracelet.
