Rolex Oyster perpetual self-winding “Bubbleback”. This 1940’s vintage Rolex wristwatch is very collectable, it gets it’s name from the shape of the case back that was made slightly convex to accommodate the automatic winding rotor. The bubble back was the first automatic by Rolex, there are several variations, this is a reference number 2940, 17 jewels, adjusted to 7 positions. Under the rotar it is marked N7650, 17 jewels, and 7 position. The case is gold filled with steel back and has a screw down Rolex oyster crown. The dial has been professionally refinished and the movement has been recently serviced and is in good working condition. Measures 31x 38 mm (not including crown) and is fitted with a new leather bracelet.
