Also known as trench watches, transitional watches became popular during the first world waramongst soldiers fighting in the trenches. It was practical during military operations to strap your watch to your wrist for quick reference rather than to frequently fish it out of the pocket for time checks. The porcelain dial has a few hairlines but that is not surprising as this watch is 93 years old (dated by serial number to 1914)! This watch has been serviced by our watchmaker and is in excellent working condition, it measures 32mm across x 40mm lug to lug and is on a vintage used leather bracelet.
