This watch is sometimes referred to as a mini “Ploprof”, which is the name of the Omega professional diving watch which shares the same movement but is rated for 600 M. This type or watch was used by the British Royal Navy and was reported to have been tested by the plungers of Comex to 365 M. The brushed finish case has inclined sides, a rotating black bezel with serrated edges, and a sapphire crystal. The black dial has painted luminous baton indexes and date aperture at 3 0’clock. The date has a quick set feature. Movement is a Cal. 1002, copper-colored, 20 jewels, serial #31498032. Case Ref. # is 166.091. The dial, case and movement are fully signed. This model has a screw down waterproof crown which has the Omega logo. Watch and auto wind mechanism is in good working condition and works very well, manual winding is not possible. Measures 41 x 52 mm. Thickness 11 mm. Ref. 166.091 Production of this reference started in 1970. Cal. 1002 created in 1968, was used for the majority of the Seamaster Professional watches from that date, including the “Ploprof” (Plongeur Profesional = Professional Diver).
